Qrent

    Qrent Car Rental Terms

    The main rules for renting and using Qrent vehicles

    These Terms set out the main rules for renting and using Qrent vehicles.

    General rules regarding booking, payment, cancellation and refunds are governed by the Qrent Public Offer. The terms of each individual rental — including the vehicle, dates, price, insurance, additional services and other specific conditions — are stated during booking and/or in the Rental Agreement.

    1. Driver Requirements

    To rent a vehicle, the driver must:

    • be at least 23 years old;
    • have at least 3 years of driving experience;
    • hold a valid driving licence for the appropriate vehicle category;
    • provide a valid passport used to enter the Republic of Armenia.

    Depending on the country of issue and format of the driving licence, an International Driving Permit (IDP) or an official translation may be required.

    An IDP is valid only when presented together with the original national driving licence.

    Qrent may refuse to provide the vehicle if the documents are invalid, do not meet the requirements, or there are objective reasons to believe that the driver cannot safely operate the vehicle.

    2. Additional Drivers

    Only drivers listed in the Rental Agreement and approved by Qrent may drive the vehicle.

    Each additional driver must meet the same age, driving experience and document requirements.

    The Renter is responsible for compliance with these Terms by all approved drivers.

    Allowing a person not listed in the Rental Agreement to drive the vehicle is prohibited. This may result in loss of insurance coverage and full liability for any resulting damage.

    3. Security Deposit

    Most Qrent vehicles are provided without a security deposit, unless otherwise stated during booking.

    For drivers with less than 5 years of driving experience, Qrent may require a security deposit even if the vehicle is advertised as being available without one.

    In individual cases, Qrent may also require a security deposit based on the specific booking and risk assessment.

    The amount of the security deposit and the conditions for its return will be communicated to the Renter before the vehicle is handed over.

    The absence of a security deposit does not release the Renter from liability for damage, fines or other costs resulting from a breach of the rental terms.

    4. Late Arrival and Airport Pick-Up

    The vehicle must be collected on the agreed date and at the agreed time.

    Without prior notice, Qrent will hold the booking for 1 hour after the agreed pick-up time. After this period, the vehicle may be provided to another customer.

    If airport pick-up has been arranged and the correct flight number was provided in advance, Qrent will track the actual flight arrival time. If the flight is delayed, the meeting time will be adjusted accordingly.

    For airport pick-ups, Qrent will wait for up to 2 hours after the actual flight landing time.

    If the flight number was not provided or was provided incorrectly, the standard 1-hour waiting period from the agreed pick-up time applies.

    If you expect to be late, contact Qrent as soon as possible. Whether the vehicle can continue to be held depends on availability and subsequent bookings.

    5. Vehicle Delivery

    Upon advance request, the vehicle may be delivered to the airport or another specified address.

    The cost depends on the location and time of delivery and will be communicated during booking.

    Vehicle pick-up and return may be available 24/7. An additional fee may apply for service outside normal business hours if specified in the booking terms.

    6. Vehicle Pick-Up and Return

    At pick-up, the condition of the vehicle, existing damage, fuel level and, where necessary, mileage are recorded. A handover report, photographs and/or video may be used for this purpose.

    Before starting your trip, we recommend making sure that all visible existing damage has been recorded.

    The vehicle must be returned on the agreed date, at the agreed time and location, and in the same condition, allowing for normal wear and tear.

    Qrent will inspect the vehicle upon return.

    If a proper inspection is not possible due to darkness, weather conditions, heavy dirt or other objective circumstances, the final inspection may be carried out later.

    Damage recorded before the start of the rental is not the Renter's responsibility.

    Return to a Different Location

    The vehicle must be returned to the agreed location.

    Returning the vehicle to a different location is permitted only with prior approval from Qrent. An additional fee may apply depending on the new return location. The Renter will be informed of any such fee before the change is confirmed.

    7. Rental Period, Extension and Early Return

    If you wish to extend the rental period, contact Qrent in advance.

    An extension is valid only after confirmation by Qrent, subject to vehicle availability and agreement on the price for the additional rental period.

    With the manager's approval, payment for an extension may be made when the vehicle is returned.

    If the extension has not been confirmed, the vehicle must be returned on the originally agreed date, at the agreed time and location.

    Continuing to use the vehicle after the end of the rental period without approval does not constitute an automatic extension.

    Late return without prior approval will result in a charge for the additional period of use and may also be subject to a penalty specified in the Rental Agreement or applicable rates.

    Failure to Return the Vehicle

    If the Renter does not return the vehicle on the agreed date, at the agreed time and location, and has not arranged an extension or change of return conditions in advance, the Renter must immediately contact Qrent and explain the delay.

    If the vehicle is not returned after the agreed rental period, no extension has been approved, and Qrent is unable to contact the Renter or the Renter refuses to return the vehicle, Qrent may take any measures permitted by law to recover the vehicle, including contacting the police and other competent authorities.

    Early Return

    The Renter may return the vehicle before the agreed end of the rental period by notifying Qrent in advance.

    If the vehicle is returned early at the Renter's initiative, the price for the originally agreed rental period will not be recalculated and payment for unused rental days will not be refunded, unless otherwise agreed with Qrent or required by mandatory applicable law.

    8. Mileage and Permitted Territory

    Mileage within Armenia is unlimited, unless otherwise expressly stated for a particular vehicle or rate.

    Without separate permission from Qrent, the vehicle may only be used within the Republic of Armenia.

    Travel outside Armenia is permitted only with prior approval from Qrent and after all required documents have been prepared.

    Crossing an international border without Qrent's permission is prohibited.

    9. Travel to Georgia

    Upon advance request, Qrent may arrange permission to take the vehicle to Georgia.

    The service must be ordered and paid for in advance through the Qrent website. A notarised authorisation (Power of Attorney) is prepared for crossing the border. Preparation may take up to 1 business day after payment and receipt of the required information.

    Once the notarised authorisation has been prepared, the service fee is non-refundable, including if the vehicle booking is cancelled within the free cancellation period.

    If the service is ordered and paid for on the intended day of travel or on a non-business day, Qrent does not guarantee that the required authorisation will be ready in time.

    Crossing the border before receiving the required documents is prohibited.

    The Renter is responsible for arranging and paying for mandatory insurance in Georgia, road charges and any other payments required by law.

    Mileage in Georgia is unlimited for an authorised trip unless otherwise stated. Permission to travel to Georgia does not permit off-road driving.

    10. Vehicle Use

    Use the vehicle carefully, comply with traffic laws, and take into account road and weather conditions, ground clearance, vehicle dimensions and the technical capabilities of the specific model.

    The following are prohibited:

    • allowing a driver not listed in the Rental Agreement to drive the vehicle;
    • subletting the vehicle;
    • using the vehicle to transport passengers or goods for payment without Qrent's permission;
    • using the vehicle for racing, competitions or driving instruction;
    • towing another vehicle without Qrent's permission;
    • carrying unsuitable cargo or exceeding the vehicle's permitted load;
    • using the vehicle for unlawful purposes;
    • driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other intoxicating substances;
    • driving while affected by medication or any condition that significantly impairs safe driving;
    • intentionally damaging the vehicle or causing damage through gross negligence;
    • continuing to drive with a serious malfunction where doing so could increase the damage or create a safety risk.

    11. Off-Road Driving

    Qrent vehicles may not be used outside roads intended for normal vehicle traffic.

    Driving through riverbeds, deep sand, mud, areas with large rocks, excessively damaged roads or other terrain clearly unsuitable for the vehicle is prohibited.

    An SUV, crossover, all-wheel drive or high ground clearance does not mean that the vehicle may be used off-road.

    If the road presents an obvious risk of damage to the underbody, suspension, wheels, transmission or bodywork, driving must be stopped.

    Damage resulting from prohibited off-road use may not be covered by insurance.

    12. Fuel

    The vehicle must be returned with a fuel level no lower than at the time of pick-up.

    If the fuel level is lower, the missing fuel will be charged according to Qrent's applicable rates.

    No refund is provided for excess fuel.

    Only the correct type of fuel may be used.

    If the vehicle is filled with the wrong fuel, the Renter is responsible for the costs of draining the fuel, cleaning the system, diagnostics, repairs, transportation and any other resulting expenses.

    13. Vehicle Malfunctions and Roadside Assistance

    If you notice a malfunction or warning light, contact Qrent and follow the instructions provided.

    If a critical warning appears — such as engine or transmission overheating, loss of oil pressure, serious tyre damage or another dangerous malfunction — stop in a safe place and do not continue driving until you receive instructions.

    During longer rentals, the Renter must reasonably monitor the condition of the vehicle, including warning indicators, tyre pressure and other information available to the driver, and promptly notify Qrent of any problems.

    Do not repair the vehicle or replace parts without prior approval from Qrent, except where immediate action is objectively necessary to prevent danger to life or health or significant additional damage.

    Pre-approved repair expenses may be reimbursed upon presentation of supporting documents.

    If roadside assistance or towing is required due to a vehicle malfunction not caused by the Renter, the related costs will be considered by Qrent based on the circumstances.

    If assistance is required due to the Renter's actions, including: lost or damaged keys; keys locked inside the vehicle; running out of fuel; using the wrong fuel; a discharged battery caused by the Renter's actions or failure to act; tyre damage or puncture; another breach of the vehicle use rules — the Renter may be responsible for the costs of roadside assistance, towing, transportation, repairs and other directly related services.

    14. Keys, Documents and Equipment

    When leaving the vehicle, close the doors and windows, take the keys with you and take reasonable precautions to prevent theft or damage.

    The Renter is responsible for the safekeeping of all items provided with the vehicle, including: keys and key fobs; vehicle documents; licence plates; child seats; chargers; phone holders; navigation devices and other equipment.

    Qrent must be notified immediately if any of these items are lost or damaged. The Renter may be charged for their replacement or restoration.

    Child seats, chargers and phone holders may be provided subject to availability and must be returned with the vehicle in working condition, allowing for normal wear and tear.

    15. Cleanliness, Smoking and Pets

    Normal dirt resulting from ordinary use is not considered damage and does not require additional payment.

    If the vehicle requires special cleaning, including removal of stains, pet hair, persistent odours or other contamination requiring special treatment, the related costs may be charged to the Renter.

    Smoking inside the vehicle is prohibited, including cigarettes, cigars, hookahs and other smoking products.

    The Renter is responsible for the cost of removing smoke odours, ash, burns or other consequences of smoking.

    Pets may be transported only with prior approval from Qrent and in a suitable closed carrier. The Renter is responsible for any damage, pet hair, odours or special cleaning required as a result.

    16. Insurance

    All Qrent vehicles have mandatory insurance in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Armenia.

    Depending on the selected rate, basic and additional insurance coverage, including CASCO, may apply.

    The exact coverage, exclusions, deductible and liability limit are specified in the selected insurance package and the Rental Agreement.

    Having insurance does not mean that all damage to the vehicle is automatically covered.

    17. Deductible

    The deductible is the maximum amount for which the Renter is responsible for each insured event, provided that the incident is recognised as an insured event and all rental and insurance conditions have been complied with.

    For example:

    • damage: AMD 500,000; deductible: AMD 100,000 → the Renter pays a maximum of AMD 100,000;
    • damage: AMD 60,000; deductible: AMD 100,000 → the Renter pays the actual damage of AMD 60,000.

    If several separate insured events occur during one rental, the deductible applies separately to each event.

    If insurance coverage does not apply because the rental or insurance conditions were breached, the deductible limit may not apply.

    18. What May Not Be Covered by Insurance

    Unless expressly included in the selected insurance package, insurance may not cover: tyres and wheel rims; windows and mirrors; the interior; the underbody; damage caused by off-road driving; keys, documents and licence plates; consequences of using the wrong fuel; damage resulting from a breach of the vehicle use rules.

    Insurance coverage may also be fully or partially invalid if the vehicle was used: by an unauthorised driver; by a driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs; outside the permitted territory; for prohibited off-road driving; for racing, competitions or unlawful purposes.

    The same may apply in cases of intentional damage, gross violations of vehicle use rules, unauthorised border crossing, knowingly providing false information about an incident, or failure to follow the required procedure for reporting and documenting an insurance claim.

    In such cases, the Renter's liability may be based on the actual amount of damage without being limited to the deductible.

    The exact coverage and exclusions are determined by the selected insurance package.

    19. Accident, Damage or Theft

    In the event of an accident, damage, theft, attempted theft, vandalism or other incident:

    • 1. under no circumstances move the vehicle from the scene until permission has been given by the police or Qrent;
    • 2. contact Qrent immediately;
    • 3. call the police and, where necessary, an ambulance or other emergency services;
    • 4. do not leave the scene until all required procedures have been completed;
    • 5. where possible, take photographs and videos of the scene, the vehicle and the damage;
    • 6. obtain all required documents from the police or other competent authorities;
    • 7. provide Qrent with all available documents, photographs, videos and information about the incident;
    • 8. cooperate with Qrent and the insurance company in processing the claim.

    Do not admit liability on behalf of Qrent, promise payment or enter into any damage settlement without Qrent's approval.

    If damage is discovered while the vehicle is parked and the responsible person is unknown, do not move the vehicle and contact Qrent immediately. Where required, the incident must also be reported to the police and/or insurance company.

    Failure to follow the required incident procedure may result in loss of insurance coverage.

    20. Liability for Damage

    Liability is determined based on the circumstances of the incident, the selected insurance coverage, the deductible and compliance with the rental terms.

    The Renter is not responsible for: damage that existed before the rental and was recorded at pick-up; normal wear and tear; damage not caused by the Renter, provided that the incident was properly documented and all rental and insurance requirements were followed.

    Damage to tyres, wheels, suspension, the underbody or other components caused by potholes, kerbs, rocks or driving on unsuitable roads will be assessed based on the circumstances and the selected insurance coverage.

    The Renter is also responsible for the actions of approved drivers and for the actions of passengers where they result in damage to the vehicle or a breach of these Terms.

    21. Fines, Parking and Towing

    The Renter is responsible for traffic violations, parking fines and other violations committed during the period in which the vehicle was actually used by the Renter.

    This also applies to camera-issued fines received by Qrent after the rental has ended.

    If a violation relates to the rental period, Qrent may require reimbursement of the corresponding amount.

    Towing, impound and vehicle storage costs are also payable by the Renter if they result from the Renter's violation or the actions of persons for whom the Renter is responsible.

    22. Return of a Heavily Soiled Vehicle

    If the vehicle is so dirty that it cannot be properly inspected, Qrent may have it washed before carrying out the final inspection.

    In this case, the cost of washing will be charged according to Qrent's applicable rates.

    Any damage that could not reasonably be identified before cleaning may be recorded after the vehicle has been cleaned and will be handled in accordance with the rental terms and selected insurance coverage.

    Normal dirt that does not prevent inspection of the vehicle will not result in an additional washing charge.

    23. Personal Belongings

    Before returning the vehicle, check the passenger compartment and luggage area and remove all personal belongings.

    Qrent is not responsible for money, documents, electronic devices or other property left in the vehicle by the Renter or passengers, except where Qrent's liability is expressly required by applicable law.

    24. Terms Applicable to the Rental

    These Terms apply together with the Qrent Public Offer, the terms of the specific booking and the Rental Agreement.

    The individual terms of each rental — including the vehicle, rental period, price, insurance package, deductible, security deposit and additional services — are determined by the booking confirmation and/or Rental Agreement.

    If an individually agreed term of the Rental Agreement differs from these Terms, the individually agreed term will apply to the extent permitted by applicable law.
